After a long period of stability within the EU, UK environmental policy faces an uncertain future. What does Brexit mean for UK environmental policy standards and ambition? What does it mean for future international environmental diplomacy such as COP26? How will the Covid-19 pandemic and commitment to Green recovery shape the future face and ambition of UK and European environmental policy?

Professor Charlotte (Charlie) Burns will talk us through some of the challenges raised by Brexit for UK and European environmental policy.

Charlie is Professor of Politics at the University of Sheffield, a former research leader for UK in a Changing Europe, co-founder of Brexit and Environment, an interdisciplinary academic network providing expert briefings and blogs on the implications of Brexit for the environment, and co-author of leading OUP textbook Politics in the European Union.
